Glass Coating Options
Clear Glass
• Definition: Standard glass with no coatings. (Now LowE)
• Performance: Allows full sunlight and heat to pass through.
• Energy Efficiency: Lowest; no UV or infrared protection.
Low-E 272 Coating (Standard Option)
• Definition: A single layer of low-emissivity metallic coating.
• Performance: Blocks UV rays (reduces fading of furniture), Reflects infrared heat to keep interiors cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Allows moderate visible light transmission.
Low-E 366
• Definition: A triple-layer low-emissivity coating.
• Performance: Superior UV and infrared blocking, Lower solar heat gain than 272, Slightly less visible light transmission.
